Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 12 round chocolate truffles or candies
  • 1/2 cup melted dark chocolate (for legs)
  • 24 candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  5. Add dry ingredients and stir to combine, then fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop dough into balls, place on baking sheet, and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden on edges.
  8. While warm, press a chocolate truffle into the center of each cookie.
  9. Once cooled, pipe 8 legs around each truffle with melted chocolate.
  10. Attach candy eyes using melted chocolate and let set.
