Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small onion finely diced (half for patties, half for gravy)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire, half the onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Shape into patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown patties on both sides. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add butter to skillet and sauté remaining onion until soft. Add garlic.
  4. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Whisk in broth until smooth. Simmer to thicken.
  5. Return patties to skillet. Simmer in gravy 10 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or noodles and garnish with parsley.
