- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Boil lasagna noodles until al dente, drain and set aside.
- Sauté onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, egg, Parmesan, salt, and parsley.
- Spread meat sauce in baking dish, layer noodles, ricotta, meat sauce, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Top with mozzarella and extra Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15-20 minutes more.
- Let rest 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
