Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cucumber sliced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a skillet cook ground beef over medium heat breaking it apart until browned and cooked through.
  2. Add garlic and ginger and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in soy sauce brown sugar sesame oil and red pepper if using. Simmer 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. While beef simmers prepare rice and fresh toppings.
  5. Scoop rice into bowls and top with beef mixture sliced cucumbers carrots green onions and sesame seeds.
