Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders
  • 1 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp butter (divided)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni in salted water until al dente then drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan melt 1 tbsp butter and whisk in flour to make a roux.
  3. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened then add shredded cheddar cheese and salt stirring until smooth.
  4. Season chicken tenders with pepper and salt then cook in a skillet with remaining butter until golden and cooked through.
  5. Add honey soy sauce garlic and more pepper to skillet and simmer until glaze thickens.
  6. Return chicken to pan and coat well in glaze.
  7. Serve chicken alongside or on top of mac and cheese and garnish with parsley.
