- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 3 cups frozen hashbrowns
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp butter (optional for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned; drain excess fat.
- In a bowl mix soup sour cream salt and pepper.
- Layer half the hashbrowns in the baking dish then the beef mixture then spread soup mixture on top.
- Top with remaining hashbrowns and sprinkle with cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes then uncover and bake 15–20 minutes more until golden and bubbly.
- Cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
