- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy then mix in molasses and egg.
- In a separate bowl whisk flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
- Roll dough into balls and coat in granulated sugar.
- Place on baking sheet spaced 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set and centers soft.
- Cool on baking sheet then transfer to wire rack.
