Ingredients

  • 1 loaf thick-cut bread (day-old preferred)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp butter (for topping)
  • Powdered sugar and berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 baking dish and layer cubed or sliced bread evenly.
  2. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
  3. Pour custard over bread and press gently to soak.
  4. Cover and refrigerate overnight or rest for 30 minutes.

  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and set.
