- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion sliced
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet with salt pepper and garlic powder. Drain excess grease and set aside.
- In the same skillet melt butter and sauté onions until golden and caramelized (10–15 minutes).
- In a bowl combine rice cream of mushroom soup sour cream half the cheese and cooked ground beef.
- Spread mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish. Top with caramelized onions and remaining cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Let rest for 5 minutes and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
