Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tbsp butter for toasting buns

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is fully cooked. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  2. Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In another skillet, melt butter and toast buns cut side down until golden.
  4. Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half and serve hot.
