Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Warm milk and mix with sugar and yeast. Let sit until foamy.
  2. Whisk flour and salt. Add milk mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix into shaggy dough.
  3. Knead 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon for filling.
  6. Punch down dough and roll into rectangle.
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon-sugar.
  8. Roll into log, place in greased loaf pan seam-side down.
  9. Cover and rise 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake 35–40 minutes until golden.
  11. Cool before slicing and serving.
