Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Beat eggs in one bowl; mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and seasoning in another.
  3. Dip chicken in eggs, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing to coat well.
  4. Pan-fry chicken in olive oil until golden, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Transfer to a baking dish; top with marinara and mozzarella.
  6. Bake at 400°F until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
