Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold puff pastry and cut into 4-inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, lemon juice, and egg yolk until smooth.
  4. Spoon filling into the center of each pastry square.
  5. Fold edges slightly if desired and brush pastry edges with egg wash.
  6. Place on baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly on a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Chill puff pastry before cutting if it gets too soft.
  • Add lemon zest to the filling for extra brightness.
