  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Cook the ziti pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  3. Sauté chopped onion in olive oil, then add garlic and ground beef. Cook until browned and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta, half the mozzarella, and some Parmesan.
  6. Layer sauce, pasta, ricotta mix, repeat, and top with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake 10-15 more minutes until bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
