- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Form patties and sear in butter over medium heat, 3 minutes per side.
- Place browned patties in a greased baking dish.
- Sauté mushrooms in butter in the same skillet.
- Add flour and stir for 1 minute, then whisk in broth until smooth.
- Stir in cream, simmer for 2–3 minutes.
- Pour gravy over patties and bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes.
Notes
- Add Worcestershire sauce to the gravy for extra depth.
- Substitute turkey for a lighter version.
- Use sour cream instead of heavy cream for tanginess.
